500 Meters
The term 500 meters, which has recently become embedded in our language and has defined our boundaries in every direction, led me to embark on a photographic journey along the street where I live — Mohaliver Street in Tel Aviv — whose entire length fits within this limited radius, from end to end.
Walking back and forth along the street and encountering the familiar faces of its residents sparked in me the desire to document them in the homes where they had been confined in recent months. Through this single street in Tel Aviv, I aimed to sample a broader social status snapshot of the current reality we’re all experiencing.
The photographs focused on authentic portraits of the residents inside their homes — without preparation or staging. In addition, each person was asked a few basic questions: name, age, occupation before the lockdown, and current status as of today.
In a time when human interaction is far from obvious, I moved from one home to the next, across the entire street, discovering a fascinating human mosaic that, even after seven years of living here, I had never truly known.
